Asset Licenses

This page explains the license options available from Algosyntax Pty Ltd and how to choose the right one for your project.

The purpose of these licenses is to keep usage clear and straightforward.

Each license gives you permission to use the purchased asset in your own projects, with the main difference being who may access and use the asset during development.

These licenses apply to digital assets such as Unreal Engine assets, materials, shaders, tools, templates, art packs, blueprints, code samples, and other downloadable production resources, unless a specific product page says otherwise.

License Options

There’s three license types:

  1. Individual License
  2. Studio License
  3. Enterprise License

Each license allows the purchased asset to be used in personal or commercial projects, subject to the scope of the selected license.

Individual License

The Individual License is designed for one person using the asset in their own work.

This license is suitable for:

  • solo developers
  • hobbyists
  • students
  • freelancers working independently
  • one-person commercial projects
  • personal, portfolio, prototype, or learning projects

With an Individual License, one person may use the asset in their own projects. This includes both non-commercial and commercial projects created by the license holder.

Example Uses

An Individual License is a good fit when:

  • you are making your own game by yourself
  • you are creating a personal Unreal Engine project
  • you are a freelancer using the asset directly in a client project
  • you are building a prototype, demo, or portfolio piece
  • you are releasing a commercial project as a solo developer

A Studio or Enterprise License may be a better fit when:

  • multiple people need access to the asset
  • the asset will be used inside a company or studio
  • the asset will be stored in a shared team repository
  • contractors, employees, or collaborators need to work with the asset files directly

Studio License

The Studio License is designed for small teams, indie studios, and companies where multiple people need access to the asset during development.

This license is suitable for 2 to 20 users:

  • small development teams

  • indie studios

  • small companies

  • internal team projects

  • commercial projects with multiple contributors

  • teams using private shared project repositories

With a Studio License, the asset may be used by a team within the license limit. It is intended for projects where several people need access to the asset as part of normal development.

Example Uses

A Studio License is a good fit when:

  • your team has several developers or artists working on the same Unreal Engine project

  • the asset needs to be stored in a private source control repository

  • the asset will be used across a small internal team

  • you are an indie studio building a commercial game

  • you are a small company producing interactive content, visualization, or simulation work

An Enterprise License may be a better fit when:

  • more than 20 people need access to the asset

  • your organization needs custom procurement, legal, or security terms

  • the asset will be used across multiple departments, subsidiaries, or external teams

  • the asset will be part of a larger shared internal asset library

What All Licenses Include

All license types allow you to:

  • use the asset in personal projects

  • use the asset in commercial projects

  • modify the asset for use in your own project

  • include the asset as part of a packaged, compiled, or cooked end product

  • use the asset in games, demos, simulations, cinematics, visualizations, or interactive applications

  • Unless stated otherwise: Lifetime Updates And Access.

For example, you may use an asset in a packaged Unreal Engine game, a rendered cinematic, an internal prototype, or a commercial client project, as long as the selected license matches the people or organization using the asset.

Usage Boundaries

To keep the licensing clear for everyone, the asset itself should not be shared as a standalone resource unless Algosyntax Pty Ltd has provided written permission.

This means the asset should not be:

  • resold by itself

  • uploaded to public repositories

  • shared with people who are not covered by the license

  • included in another asset pack, template, marketplace product, or downloadable resource

  • presented as an original asset created by someone else

  • made available in a way that lets others extract, copy, or reuse it as a standalone asset

The license is intended to let you use the asset in your own projects. It is not intended to make the asset itself available as a separate product or shared resource.
